-5° Supperclub
Lounge, restaurant and club. Drinks are 120 Baht for bottled Heineken.
180 Baht was later reported for a bottle of Singha
From Pattaya Secrets,
Feb 2008: Ice Room
It costs 500 baht to go into the Ice Room (jackets provided) for 25
minutes. During this 25 minutess you can apparently order as many Vodka
shots as you want free of charge.
The Supper Club is an all white room with a sunken bar in the middle
which is encircled by alcoves in which you will find large mattresses to
lay, slouch, sit on. Shoes off of course. In the middle of the mattress
is a small table 6 inches high from which you eat your food. Each
mattress will hold about 6 - 8 people.
The menu is mixed at around 1000 baht for 3 course or 1300 for 4 course.
There is no 'Thai' food as such.
IMO it is a very stylish place that would be best enjoyed with a group
of friends.
...and a few very beautiful service girls
From Pattaya Secrets,
Jan 2008: Electro/Funky
I went to this fantastic bar the weekend. The music, mixed by a live
DJ is really electro/funky and the ambience is truly unique for Pattaya.
It felt very Japanese in as far as you take off your shoes and chill
out on these really comfortable big white sofa’s. The whole room is
bright white but the special design of lighting ensures that the colours
change every few minutes.
A great place to take a special girl, I wouldn’t recommend you go
with your mates. The drinks are pricey, B120++ for a small bottle of
Heineken, but don’t be put off by that, its truly worth a visit.
From -5 Supperclub, Jan 2008:
Style Conscious
Enjoy Chef's latest creations, while relaxing on gigantic beds of
pure white with colour changing lights. Mouthwatering fusion food, is
served ‘in bed’, with cool music and style-conscious staff, setting the
mood.
After 10pm the volume is cranked up and the lights down, for the perfect
atmosphere to party the rest of the night away...

3 Angels Bar
Opened in August 2006 replacing DMTs
News from
Pattaya Secrets,
August 2006: Angel Showers
After several weeks of renovations, 3 Angels has reopened on the site
of the now defunct DMT's on Soi 6. from the outside, you wouldn't really
notice anything different. Signs have changed, girls haven't.
Inside the main bar, it still looks pretty much the same. Mirrors with
Xmas lights around them remain. New sofas and wall treatments and the
addition of a big bike on display (presumably the angels in the name are
more to do with motorbikes than celestial singing)
DMT's, like most Soi 6 bars, had shit rooms, shit beds, shit showers and
shit lighting. Not anymore. The new Dutch owner spent the money where it
counts: In the bedroom. New entrance, new doors, new walls, flooring,
everything. Looks like a proper Western-style budget hotel now.
Gone is the communal shower with the half-working hot water and
obligatory bucket. Now each room has its own shower with good water temp
and pressure. There is inset incandescent lighting and new beds and
mattresses.

6 Up
The now open upstairs bar at Pook is said to feature girls. It seems
a strange idea as the downstairs bar is solidly lady boy. I generally
give the lady boys a wide birth and don't really fancy pushing past them

Amsterdamaged
Pattaya
Soi 6
(Soi Yodsak)
(centre) |
Amsterdamaged
Short time bar, taking over from Love Club. Opened 30th April
2010.
Review June 2010: First Impressions
The bar has been a bit low key since opening with just 2 or 3
girls standing outside. At least they weren't lady boys so I thought
I would take the opportunity for a look see.
The girls were sitting outside rather than in the Amsterdam style
windows. Perhaps a bit unsurprising that the girls like to have a
chat whilst waiting for customers rather than sitting on their own.
Inside is a smart looking, good quality bar with wooden style
double benches arranged around the central open plan area. There are
also a couple of bays of inviting looking, and more private booth
seating.
The cashier was keeping the bins at her counter rather than
bringing them to the customer's table. This seems to be a
commonplace way of operating on Soi 6 these days and is totally
reprehensible in my books. It seems to do nothing for the customer's
interests, but enables easy bin padding opportunities for the staff.
At some bars towards the 2nd Road end of Soi 6, the technique is
also used to hide high drinks prices until it is time to settle up.
Anyway no such problems at Amsterdamaged, where the drinks were
reasonably priced with a beer at 80 Baht and a lady drink at 100
Baht.
It's early days for Amsterdamaged but at least an attractive bar
will provide a good starting point.
Update, May 2010: Open Doors but Closed
Windows
The idea of getting girls to sit in windows doesn't seem to have
panned out. More worryingly I have spotted mostly lady boys outside
the bar so far.
News from Amsterdamaged April 2010
There
is a new bar soon to open on Soi 6 that will give Pattaya visitors a
taste of Amsterdam.
As you may suspect, the bar is inspired by the red light windows of
Amsterdam and from the experience of living nearby the fabled district
known as De Wallen
The owners have tried to turn the bar into the same as you would
expect in the dam ie girls in the windows, private booths inside
(3), and mirrored short time rooms (3) all on-suite.
The girls are said to be very excited about the mirrors.
There will also be a dance stage at the front with a pole. There will
also be welcome girls to usher customers in.
The beer prices will remain the same as the old Love Club.
There will be an official opening on Saturday 1st May and there will
be a soft opening on Friday 30th April.

Atlantic
Bar
Beer bar
Review by Materialsman, Oct 2008:
Beautiful Ladies
Now, I haven’t been to The Atlantic Bar for a couple or three years,
since it’s supposed heyday, but I keep in touch with what’s happening on
various Forums, including Thai-Anxiety, and consensus has been that the
Atlantic is in decline, and that the few remaining lookers there believe
they have ‘pussies spun of the finest and purest gold thread’ and hardly
give a punter the time of day.
Well, I have to say on entering the bar, I was pleasantly surprised!
There were probably 25 girls in attendance, and this was around 21:30,
before the ‘superstars’ can be assed to turn up for duty, and there were
some very attractive ladies on view, all resplendent in clingy white
dresses, or other very tight white clothing. I am not sure if they have
a different colour scheme for each night of the week, I will have to go
back and check, but the overall effect on Tuesday was quite dazzling!
We positioned ourselves in seats between the pool tables and the bar
to get a good panoramic view of the lovelies and ordered a couple of
bottled Heinekens, which came at a reasonable 70 baht a bottle
considering the eye candy, we had a drink in Anna Jet in Soi 7 last week
and they charged like a ‘wounded rhinoceros’ for the same libations,
with nothing anywhere near as good to look at pulchritude wise.
Perhaps true to form we weren’t hassled by the beauties, but I am the
sort of guy that is happy to buy lady drinks for any lady I choose to
buy for, but don’t enjoy being pressurised into doing so by unwelcome
attention. We stayed for a couple more and enjoyed the view, so overall
I felt it was still a good place to sit and drink, and feel for sure if
you were a regular enough guy and took a little time to get the know the
stunners, there would be no problem in negotiating ‘extra curricular’
activities with the hostesses. Good service, reasonable prices, and
beautiful ladies, what more could a man ask for?
Notes from Pattaya forums, Dec 2007: Girls
on Top
This must be one of the most talked about bars in Pattaya. Some
people love it and some people hate it.
Clearly the pretty girls are in charge about the selections and the
lucky guy are probably fans of the bar. The unlucky guys then probably
hate it and probably waste a fortune in lady drinks in the hope that
they can get selected by the girls.
Many of the girls have followed manager Patrick to U Too bar a couple
of blocks south on the same road.
Review from Ryan, Dec 2006: White and Blue
Tags
You have two types of ladies working here, the ladies wearing white
tags cannot leave the bar as the are solely to work in the bar, I found
these ladies friendly, as a matter of fact I have made two really good
friends from this type of lady from the Atlantic Bar.
Then you have the ladies with the blue tags, you can barfine these
women. Also the owners Boom and Johan are good hosts and do a lot for
you, it is especially good if you wish to watch a sporting event.
Review from Carl, Nov 2006: Collecting Lady
Drinks
Found a few crackers here nice girls very friendly and accommodating.
After talking to a few girls they told me they do like collecting lady
drinks then they like to disappear near closing time to go dancing down
walking street.
Review from
Pattaya Secrets,
May 2006: All at Sea
Most of the girls at Atlantic can't even be bothered to notice you
exist. Once you've got a drink in front of you, you might as well be
invisible at this bar.
It wasn't just me, mind you. One time I was there, the guy next to me
had something like four ladydrinks in front of him. He was sitting
alone. Why? because the girls were too busy talking to each other on the
other side of the bar! I couldn't believe it. Every now and then one
would sidle over, take a sip of her precious drink, and head back to
chat with her friends.
I had thought I was ignored on my first visit because there was a
football match on and perhaps the girls had been instructed not to chat
up customers who were watching the game.
Not so. The second time around, I was still ignored, but at least I
didn't buy four ladydrinks for non-existent ladies like the poor sap
next to me.

Reader review, Dec 2006: Bee There
A few changes seem to have occurred in this bar over the last year. The
main one is a stock of new pretty girls. The general atmosphere in the
bar definitely seemed different from all other bars down the street when
I visited it.
The staff are polite and friendly. Drinks are very reasonably priced.
You can go and have your fun nearby with your new "friend" then come
back and relax in the bar and even have a game of pool on the nice
slate-bed table.
If you want to listen to your favourite song you can be your own DJ
on the computer disco system. It's definitely worth a visit even if you
only want to play pool against their resident Thai lady pool hustler.
She will out-drink and out-play you time and time again!

Bret Bar

Bret Bar
Short time bar renamed from Christina May's.
News August 2009: Open
The remodelling previously mentioned is in fact to make the bar
totally open. The bar previously had a smallish inside area but I guess
the lack of air conditioning made it a little less inviting than it
should have been.
The bar was clearly attracting mostly the people that like open bars
so it makes sense, but for me lack of aircon and privacy makes it an
unusual bar style for Soi 6 that generally hasn't got a good track
record.
News August 2009: Barfines Down
May is just wrapping up a major remodelling of the bar area. She has
also dropped the bar fines! LT barfine has gone from 1000 baht before
8pm, 500 after, to 500 baht before 8pm. 300 after. ST dropped from 500
to 300.
News April 2008: Bret Passes Away
Bret of Bret Bar in Soi 6 suffered a heart attack and auto crash in
October of 2006, rendering him essentially incapacitated. Recovery was
very slow for Bret, but there was clear progress being made through
2007. Recently, however, that changed, and his health went into a rapid
decline. Last Tuesday, April 22, his heart problems overcame him.
Review April 2008:
Environmentally Friendly
A soi 6 with a mixture of entertainments. The bar has an outside
section complete with pool table and also an inside section featuring
little but the typical sofas.
The girls are a mixture too from Soi 6 stalwarts to innocentish
newcomers.
The bar has something against electricity so don't expect aircon or
much in the way of lighting.
Review Jan
2007: Short Time Karaoke
I was drawn in by a pretty girl who was a little hyped up by the free
flowing fun from a party.
The bar has dedicated most of the available floor space to an outside
beer bar area. However there is a an inside portion too. The desire to
escape both the party karaoke and the hot evening area spurred me to head
for the aircon.
There seemed to be a lack of traditional Soi 6 sofa seating. There were
stools at the bar and single easy chairs. Nothing to stop amorous couples
doubling up but if they chose to sit in a chair each they would be
uncomfortably distant from each other.
But of course short time bars succeed or fail depending on the girls on
hand. And on this particularly occasion the bar proved to be a big
success.

The
Bullring
Bar
Short time bar
Review July 2008: Bullshit
Lured in by a suitably good looking girl, but then things went
downhill a bit. The girl was a little demure but was friendly enough.
I ordered a lady drink and then noticed that the bin hadn't yet
appeared at my table for my beer. The lady brought back her drink but
still no bin. I asked the girl to bring the bin and had a look. The Thai
whiskey & coke lady drink was a whopping 140 Baht. No wonder they
weren't keen on showing the bill.
I asked the girl and she reckoned that she will only receive 20 Baht
of the 140.
Somehow put me off the business in hand and I went in search of
another bar more deserving of my trade. A bit of a shame as I didn't
find another girl as deserving of my trade.
Review May 2008: Friendly Cows?
Always seems quiet but they seem to have a few pretty girls on hand.
I have always been looked after well in the bar
There is a computerised music system with every track known to man.
They allow a bit of naughty stuff in the bar but they make of a play
of shutting doors and standing guard. Easier just to retire upstairs.
Review April 2007: No Bull
There's no bar theme linking the bar with either
Spanish bull fighting or even the Birmingham shopping centre. No, just a
typical small soi 6 bar complete with the usual 2 person sofas.
My drinking companion reckoned that the bar was Thai
owned.
The bar seemed well run and the bar tabs were fair
with bottled beer going for 70-75 Baht (strangely two prices for the
same brand of beer though!)
But as always, merits in this type of bar are down to
the hostess of choice. My selection was eloquent, witty, pretty and
suitably enticing so the bar was therefore a hit.

Bus Stop Bar

Review from Dave, May 2009: Under
new management
Under new management since the start of the year and it is now run by
a Kiwi guy and his partner. Completely new set of girls since my visit
there last year.
There were about 7 girls there ranging from 5's to 7's out of 10 and
contrary to the previous comment, I would have been able to bar fine any
of them, the girl must have been having a bad day.
Not as good as it used to be but the new guy will probably be trying to
find his feet as he is new to the Pattaya scene.
At this point in time, I would just call it an average bar.
Review Feb 2009: Knocked Back
There were few girls at the door, but one was good looking so I
thought I would give it a try. But the cutie refused to come in with me.
I hope the Soi 7/8 trick of keeping the prettiest girl on the door isn't
coming to Soi 6.
Probably the girl was just being picky. Anyway to avoid having my ego
sapped again I will give the bar a miss.
Thanks to Jay, June 2008: Volume
The bar tends to have the music volume set too loud for interviews or
conversation depending on how you look at it. Requests to get it turned
down granted but it wasn't long before the volume would edge up again.
Spoilt a good chat with a cutie.
Review from Funseeker, June 2008:
No Urge to Leave
I have just come back from Pattaya and what a time I had, in fact it
was the best holiday I ever had.
Was made very, very, welcome at the Bus Stop bar, in fact I spent most
of my time there (woo hoo) I never felt the urge to leave Soi 6 in the
night time as it was full of beautiful girls.
I travelled around Pattaya but Bus Stop was the best place and prices
were good at Bt500 short time and Bt1000 long time, if you wanna stay
there it is only Bt650 per night
Beers were Bt80 and the Aussie owner (Dave) was a great bloke who told
me the best places to go in Pattaya and he even showed me them
personally (fantastic).
Hope you enjoy as much as I did.
News, Apr 2008: Private Bus
The open bar idea was not a complete success so now there is a closed

S.T. 300 for bar, 700 for girl. Nicest S.T. room I have seen. Not en
suite but shower room good also.
Review from jj, July 2006: Fly In
Butterfly Bar is an all too typical Soi 6 ST bar. Nicely appointed in
wood and tile with comfortable sofas and discreet cubicles, it is a
perfect example of mediocrity and the paramount importance of the staff.
The current owner seems to have sunk a fortune into the place, but no
matter how attractive the decor, no matter what the owner's intentions,
the ladies in residence are the key to return business.
The curtains on the cubicles showed promise of special things to come.
False alarm. Our ladies-of-the-hour were attractive, funny and
talkative, but generally non-responsive, allowing a minimum of grab and
tickle. Some bars have a complete lack of ambience but fun girls. Fun
ladies trump decor any time.
Butterfly reportedly has a staff of 10 but on this week night only 6
were in evidence. They reportedly are all non-salaried free-lancers so
the "go upstairs" refrain was all too frequent. There is an unused tiny
dance platform immediately inside the door. We were offered 'a show' for
a 1000 - a bit steep when the ST BF is a mere 300.
Rumor has it that there is a new owner in the offing. I, for one, would
hope that he has a gimmick, a way to break the Soi 6 pattern. For one
thing he should ban the ladies from wearing jeans. Perhaps even
institute a uniform of sorts that better advertises the available
assets. An agreement with the ladies in residence for a pay-to-play
closed-curtain "show" priced somewhat below 1000, would be one possible
way to integrate the available decor to attract customers. Unless he
finds a way to make Butterfly stand out, it will simply remain a
nondescript ST bars in a city full of nondescript ST bars.

Review by Materialsman, Oct 2008:
Hurry Away
I will always take a seat and order a beer no matter what, rather
than turn tail and flee if the bar is full of dragons, first
impressions can be deceiving, and there could be hidden gems just out
of line of sight. However, on this occasion first impressions were
100% correct, and the bar was staffed with some pretty ordinary girls.
Now, the reason for picking The Cherry Bar was that it was owned by
one of my all time favourite ex-TQ1 dancers, Khun Tom and her equally
lovely sister, and used to be staffed by a fairly attractive young
crowd of girls, sadly no longer! I don’t know if they sold out the bar
or not, but I realised my error of choice, drank my bottle as fast as
I could, and check binned even though it was my mates turn to pay,
never looked or cared about the prices, just wanted away in a hurry!
March 2006:

Review from Dave May 2009:
Definitely worth a visit
I was welcomed by the owner (Alan) who was a great source of info
while I was in Pattaya and a hell of a nice guy as well.
There was 4 or 5 girls there ranging 5's to 8's out of 10 and they were
all very friendly.
Great little bar, good pricing on beer with a large selection of some of
the best Malts (prices on the bottles, so no surprises) and the place
seems to come alive at night.
I stayed there and the rooms were very good (Bt500 per night) and
cleaned daily but if you want something more up market, he also rents
out condo's over towards Jomtien). No problems with taking girls from
other bars back.
All in all, definitely worth a visit.
Review June 2008: Drinker's Pub
The smallish bar has a lot of character, especially for Soi 6. The
owner is clearly passionate about his drinking and his military. The bar
is decorated accordingly and the bar is also stocked with an enormous
selection of drinks. Perhaps from the Scottish connection, I assumed
that the array of bottles would be mostly whiskeys, but there is
actually a wide selection of all drinks.
Most of the seating is focussed at the bar so perhaps there is not so
much opportunity for canoodling. But there are a fair amount of girls on
offer.
My companion for the evening was very attractive and was very good
company. It also made a change that she was a cider drinker rather than
the more usual Thai Whisky or orange juice
Later on the evening the bar became pretty full, with what I assumed
were regulars, as everyone seemed to know everyone.
I can see myself joining them.

Review Sep 2007: Kitsch
I was strangely drawn into visiting the bar on the
back of bad reviews. Sometimes one needs to get a little perspective.
But as it turns out the 'badness' turned out to be
more bad taste than anything. The decor is surely a little 'retro' or
maybe just cheap. The dodgy looking fixtures and fittings maybe
emphasised the latter option.
But none of this proved much of a problem when beset
by a team of girls intent on getting up close and personable. They
weren't really quite top notch but they ensured that the stay was
pleasurable enough.

Nov 2006: Mercedes and BMW’s
A newish nightspot aimed at middle class Thais.
There is a limited beer choice of Singha & Corona. The Thai
preference is for a group to share a bottle of whiskey.
The place is very small. There is a ground floor areas and a balcony
overlooking the stage. The place is often packed with queues outside
too. The car park is bulging with Mercedes and BMW’s.
Musically, its hip hop tapes or CDs until 10.00pm and then a live
group. They also have a DJ scratching 12”singles.
There is no dance floor and there are no high tech lasers, dry ice
machines or scanners etc, the sound system is not bad but nothing
compared to some of the go-go bars on Walking Street.

June 2008:
Get a Chivas
Bottle of Chivas (the cheapest item on menu) - 1200b
Fruit Bowl (not optional) - 200b
Ice and Cokes, Soda - 60b each
Fortunately, the girls will drink from your bottle, but some will keep
asking for tequila (250b/shot).
You can buy beer instead of a bottle of liquor, but this will be
expensive too, plus you will have to buy drinks for girls
On the bright side, the girls are the most beautiful you will see in
Thailand, or Asia for that matter (excluding perhaps Japan), and they
have literally hundreds.
If you did not drink the bottle you can take it home and come back
another day, they won't charge you again, but will still have to pay for
fruit and mixers.
Review from Pattaya Addicts,
May 2008:
Get a Bottle
Beers were 140-200 and cocktails ranged from 250 up. If you go, order
a bottle of something cheap and some mixers for 60 baht and it's not
really that expensive. A bottle of Chivas is like 800.
The girls ranged but there were a couple of stunners and quite a few
very good looking ones. Be careful as there are some post-op ladyboys
working in there and it can be very hard to tell them apart from the
other girls. The main reason being that so many of the girls there have
had a lot of surgery on their chest/face and look like ladyboys as well.
The girls can be barfined by talking to mammasan. You work out the price
with her but I have no idea what the costs are.
They've got two rooms. One has dancers and DJ music, the other has a
live band with girls dancing between songs.
The wait staff was a bit pushy about ordering drinks.
Review from
Pattaya Secrets:
Wallet Slimming
Reportedly the latest venture from the people that ran the popular
but ill-fated Route 999.
Aimed primarily at Hi-So Thais with two rooms, a DJ Club and Fashion
Club.
The DJ Club has a large stage also overlooked by a large balcony. The
decor is good and the sound system is impressive.
The Fashion club features coyote dancing and has private booths. The
girls are said to be very pretty.
The beer selection is limited to bottled corona at 250 Baht a knock.
Lady drink tequilas are also 250 Baht. There also seems to be a very
expensive policy of having to order a tequila yourself to drink with the
lady. The Thai norm of ordering a bottle of whiskey for a group seems to
be the way to go here.
Barfines are reportedly 15,000 Baht but I would take this as meaning
the dancing girls aren't barfinable rather than anyone being expected to
pay this amount.

Full Moon Bar
Pattaya Soi 6 (Soi Yodsak)/ |
Full Moon Bar
Short time bar. Changed hands and completely refurbished in summer
2010.
From Full Moon Bar, June 2010:
Complete Makeover
Each room has been completely redone, electrics to European standards, the
widest beds in the market, new bedding, linens and towels, large side mirrors
and ceiling for kinky activities, handrail for girls, spacious sofas and chairs
for games out of bed or on the floor, black tiles, quiet and efficient air
conditioner and ceiling fan, and even a card to turn on and turn off the
electricity at the end of session, as in the best hotels.
In the rooms (except orange), there is a spacious bathroom with sink, new shower
and toilet, with hot and cold water and a large mirror for playing a bit if you
feel like it.
On the first floor so we have four new rooms: the black, red, orange and yellow
for your mood. The rooms have dimmers, a black light lamps, and white light in
ceiling for most voyeurs. The decoration is made of sexy photos of girls and,
for relaxation, trees and flowers adorn the rooms finely colored, a touch of
country. The rooms red and black are huge, the other two smaller.
On the second floor from late June 2010 will be four other rooms in the same
spirit, which will be rented on a daily, weekly or monthly rates. And a metal
staircase was installed at the rear of the building against the wall for fire
safety.
The bar has also been completely redecorated and extended. There are large
individual seats, sofas and new air conditioning, electricity, etc. There is
also a special private playroom where the customer can be alone (or with
friends) with one or two or more girls on comfortable sofas to relax completely
in his own way during the time that suits him
So in the Full Moon Bar, everything is now above local standards. From the staff
side, there are 17 girls and a few other freelancers, young and sexy to satisfy
the desires of customers from 10 am to 1 am.
I talk at length about my bar as I'm proud, because it finally became beautiful,
clean, safe, efficient and facilitated by a young but experienced and effective
girls that I trained myself.

June 2006: Good
Probably spent more time in GoodFellas than anywhere else, but the
good looking girls are snapped up early. Well thought out bar,
attractive, good seating, clean. Haven't used their short time room
though.
November 2005:
A couple of the girls out front seem to have developed deep voices
presumably from the large amount of 'welcome handsum man' calls uttered.
Anyway I didn't hang around to investigate further, plenty more bars in
the gauntlet.
I feel a bit sorry for any naturally husky or tall girls in Soi 6.
Given that one has only a split second choice as one passes, the height
and voice is a high priority filter for me. But on the other hand the
lady boy's seem to do well enough for customers so perhaps tall girls
get a lot of interest. I wonder if there are ever any shocks in the
short time room when the customer gets to see that his lady boy is in
fact a girl.
Summer 2005:
I found Goodfella's to be a nice, clean, well laid out
bar with some pretty girls.

Review from
Jil in Pattaya
July 2007: A Pricey Theme
Henry J Bean's is definitely a theme restaurant, but it sort of
misses the mark. The clientele on the night I was there was primarily
Thai people. (Tourists probably head for more "local" restaurants, and
the expatriate crowd obviously have their reasons for not coming.) My
guess is that this restaurant (with its Fillipino band) is the
starting-off spot for well-to-do Thai people.
The band was good, and the music was fine but far too loud for a
restaurant. Most of the entrees are around 250-400 baht. However,
drinks are pricey, with small (0.25L) draft beers being 100 baht, and
mixed drinks 160 baht.
A little bit expensive and definitely far from the best meal deal in
town. Add to that the loud music; service that, while satisfactory, was
not outstanding; the tacky decor; and the food that was pretty much
average... and you have a restaurant that you can go ahead and leave to
the rich Thai people, who don't know any better.

Review by Materialsman, Oct 2008:
Face of an Angel
Now, this was my very first visit to this establishment, and I don’t
want to get into a debate about the old Coyote vs Go-Go Girls thing, I
know the Pattaya A Go-Go purists don’t like them, indeed ‘mein host’ at
Thai-Anxiety is not a lover of the Coyote style, but I have to say I was
very, very impressed with the line up of beauty here, all resplendent in
skimpy white attire, which confirmed my suspicions from The Atlantic Bar
that ‘White is indeed this years Black’ and in particular number #92,
which gave me an ‘Apocalypse Now’ moment, you know the lines, Sell the
house. Sell the car. Sell the kids. Find someone else. Forget it. I'm
never coming back. Forget it. What an absolute darling! Wearing a
miniscule pair of white shorts, a cropped white top with a black bra
showing through revealing a fair old cleavage, long curly hair and the
face of an Angel! I was in love big time, but I had to think, is it the
skimpy clothing that makes her stand out? Would I have been so smitten
had she been wearing a bikini, or even naked? This is where we came in,
regards the Coyote look, personally I like it, it makes a change of pace
and the skimpy clothing adds a little mystery for me, even though there
isn’t much of it.
I have to say The Honeypot made us feel very welcome, giving us two
of the best seats right near the window and right near the dancing
podium, I felt like a kid in a candy store! And what of my delectable
number #92 Goddess? Well, of course she never gave me the time of day,
but I handle rejection well, and will be back to try another day.
Overall, this place rocks! Well not exactly ‘Rocks’, as they have the
unusual concept for this kind of bar, of having a live band playing sort
of cod-rock, easy listing type stuff, I kept expecting Hotel California
any moment, but bizarrely it seems to work fine, all the girls seem
happy enough, the staff were friendly, (except #92, probably just shy!)
and drinks reasonable. I am going to take another look next week at the
comparable Club Blu in Soi Boukhao before I judge the whole Coyote
thing, but for now I think it’s a winning concept, but my judgment could
be clouded by my schoolboy crush!. The only reason we left was that on
the next table, a large American chap fired up an equally large stogie,
which put a damper on my enjoyment, so much for the supposed ban on
smoking inside air conditioned venues, like all Pattaya ‘crackdowns’ it
has quickly turned to dust, (Or at least ash!)

Pattaya Secrets,
May 2007: Cute Girls
I really enjoy Honey Pot. Definitely lots of cute girls and have had
fun with them even if the one girl did quote me 5000 Baht LT.

Review from
Pattaya Secrets, Dec 2006:
Reception
They seem to differentiate between hostess girls and girls on the
door area (reception) (and that's half the girls sometimes) who are
there to entice you in. They will walk with you to the bar if you take
one but otherwise they are supposed to stay at door. If you do buy one a
drink they are supposed to leg it back to the door unless you bf them or
continue to buy them drinks and a mamasan gives them the okl. The owners
clearly know their business but I think this aspect is rather absurd.
Review from
Thailand
Nightlife Roundup, Dec 2006: Sleek
A sleek new bar. Stunning slender dancers in tight vests and
hot-pants ripple compellingly on 3 platforms, and big TV-screen windows
give a view of the raucous street-life and kiosk bars opposite.
The air-conditioning is cool, the Burberry-clad service is
friendly, the cream-and-biscuit paintwork is soothing, and the
house-band is terrific.
Starting off with dinner-jazz in Pat Metheney style, they modulate
through bass-beat funk to rock classics you can headbang along to.
Soft drinks 65 baht, booze at 95 baht, ladydrink 100 baht &
hostess barfine 600 baht, service girl 500 Baht.

Review From

I go to this bar quite often during my trips. There some nice girls,
although the stunners usually man the reception area until late after
which they look to be bar-fined. There is a huge TV screen for football

Review from Dave, May 2009:
Well Positioned
Good well priced food at this bar and very well positioned for
checking out the talent at other bars as well as getting recon from
the expats and regulars that drink there.
Also a good bar to go to if you want to see any sporting events.
Good place to chill out if you aren't in the mood for a bar girl.
Review from Swanks, August 2006: Tarred with a New Brush
The lightning struck tower of change has hit the Jack Tar big time!
The place is still inhabited by the same bawdy and good natured ex-pat
crowd with the odd tourist who thinks he has slipped in unnoticed, but
gone are the poisonous grim meanies and especially the chief viper from
the kitchen.
Not only was my visit well worth it for the food, but I got a beaming
smile , very friendly, very welcoming and attentive service from some
quite charming waiting and bar staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble
for them!
I thought I'd gone in the wrong bar by mistake! Well worth a visit now!
Don't forget its not a late night place though, more for an afternoon of
spirited debate , if you take my drift!
Review from Swanks, April 2006: Service
with a Scowl
This always was a "Beer n Sport" bar and was previously very
welcoming.
Since the ousting of Scrumpy George by the bar girl mafia there, it
really has been the tail wagging the dog! George's management style
might have been a bit "Faulty Towers" ,but he managed to keep a lid on
what started as a bad attitude in the kitchen, and then spread to the
rest of the staff like clap at Loy Krathong. Now it really has took hold
and even the new Thai manager seem to have mastered the lip curl (as
used on social inferiors by Thais) . This is issued on every possible
occasion now and usually is accompanied by "Knowing looks" between staff
members. This attitude problem has been mentioned to me by several of
the former customers without my saying anything first so it cant be just
my imagination.
Beer still cheep and the food is possibly the best, for the price, in
Pattaya. Just don't expect service with a smile.

March 2005: Good Track Record
Very nicely fitted out but like has already been said it is in the
middle of nowhere but that can be a good thing if you want a quiet drink
with a few friends away from the madness and there is plenty of space
for parking in the pub car park. The couple of times I've been in the
place it was pretty empty which is a shame really as it could be a good
boozer if it can get enough custom.

as well as managing Delaneys/Shenanigans and is a nice guy.
Great weekend carvery and wonderful staff. 50 Baht for a coke, 30

Review from Pattaya Chat,
March 2005: Pea and Sham Soup!
Was one of the Manager's first customers when he had Jools in Bangkok
where portions were super-size, especially the Pea and Ham soup.
Therefore when I tried Jamesons a while back for lunch and saw the
aforementioned soup on the menu I decided that past experience would
prevail. Ordered Pea and Ham Soup and Roast Beef sandwich.
Soup arrived, a smattering of green sludge was deposited on the bottom
of the bowl. indeed not enough liquid to drown the proverbial fly! The
sandwich arrived, two miniscule pieces of bread buried under a mass of
rabbit fodder, specifically requested NOT to be supplied! Somewhere
there were two tiny slivers of meat, and I do mean tiny!
The manager was called for who just laughed in my face as I explained
politely my dissatisfaction. Needless to say never been back.

April 2006: No Techno Boombox
Sadly, King Kong seems to be on the downside. The last 3 or 4 times
I've been in it has been dead. Not many punters and listless girls. It
may be just part of the life cycle of bars.
If you go, I think after 10:30 would be best as the girls get up to

Music is still a good mix of blues, r&b, bluegrass and alt. country, no
techno boombox shit.
Still worth a visit though to a Pattaya landmark of sleaze.
November 2005: Eating at the Bar
It seems to have become something of an eatery with girls sitting on

Live Band
The Classroom Bar is a large semi-open bar with a live band and a
couple of pool tables.
The service staff are very friendly and it proved a good last stop on
my way back to the hotel late at night or in the early hours. Some nice
girls here but it seems more like a place you take a girl to rather than
go there to find one.

Review May 2009: Good Start
The bar opened with enthusiasm with pretty girls and cheap drinks.
Originally the bar had a glass front so as to show off 2 coyote
dancing girls. The open front rarely works well when privacy for short
time interviews is preferred for most of the regulars to the soi. So,
following rapidly in the footstep of other bars who have tried the open
front approach, the curtains soon appeared.
Review from Pattaya-Live
April 2009: Cheapish drinks
The girls do look stunning in there uniforms which are different
every day.
The expected high prices and bad attitude was completely wrong though
and the old trick of putting the '10' on full time door duty didn't
happen ether .
1000 BT for ST including room and cheapish drinks will certainly have
my hard earned dosh a new home on a regular basis. The reason I say this
is because the place was worth it! It was spotless, smelled nice and had
been completely renovated upstairs to a very high standard.
Time will tell, but I suspect the new owner knows her stuff and has
seen the way to survival and success in Pattaya.

The Love Club
Short time bar, now Amsterdamaged, see above.
News February: Redevelopment
The bar is closed for extensive rework. This must be one of the most
changing bars on Soi 6.
Review October 2008: Design Flaw
The large bar seems to be suffering on the design front. The attempt
to go open front was rapidly aborted and the current configuration seems
ill suited to Soi 6.
There are some good quality sofas available, but these are arranged
in a group affair like in the Friends coffee shop. Fine for a group, but
not for the majority of the singleton Soi 6 customers. The first
customer tends to claim the entire suite. Any other customers, out of
deference to privacy, choose to sit at the bar.
The barstools are good though with leather and backs. But somehow
stools never really allows for good interactive short time interviews
with the girls.
There's also a low stage with 2 or 3 poles for dancing. But outside
of parties, or spontaneity from the girls, it is not regularly used.
Still the bar currently has some good looking ladies, so I am sure
they can still do well. After all, that's what really counts.
I have forgotten how much the drinks cost, but it was within the
normal range.
News August 2008: Re-Fronted
It only took 3 weeks for Love Club to realise that open fronted bars
are not very successful on Soi 6 (although Pook lady boy bar opposite
seem to do well).
So Love Club have now restored their front and therefore privacy for

News August 2008: Open Love
Love Club on Soi 6 has changed a bit and has removed the front to
become an open bar.
No doubt it won't be long before the close it in again. People go to

Review from
Pattaya Chat, June 2006: Wheat Beer
If your looking for a place to find girls then look elsewhere but I
enjoyed it in there, there is a fairly good Filipino band and It gets
quite busy from about 10pm, they serve Erdinger lager and wheat beer
both draught and bottles, the bottles of wheat beer go down a dream but
are expensive at 195bht for 500ml.
I'd recommend it as a place to take your girl if your looking to get
away from the sleaze for a few hours, I took my girl friend's family in
there and they were really impressed and enjoyed it, you get a lot of
Germans getting up on the dance floor and so there's plenty to laugh at.
October 2005:
Nicely decorated. Very quiet on a Monday night but this was
attributed to it being the night off for the house band. The replacement
band were not really capturing much interest.
Drinks are expensive and are in the rang 100-150 Baht.
Personally I will stick to the more lively music bars of Walking

December 2005: Lucrative
There are 3 bays each with 3 small sofas. The ambient lighting is

Small bar perhaps in need of a little refreshment.
The seating is not particularly well laid out for short time
interviews. There is just one large sofa and the rest, stools at the bar
or around small tables.
I chatted with a friendly girl but she was not the slightest bit
hands on.
The drinks were reasonable at 70 Baht for a bottled beer and 100 Baht
for a lady drink.
Seems a straightforward, decent bar but not really well laid out for
the Soi 6 purpose.
Review from Pattaya-Addicts,
Sept 2008: Hassle Free
Nightwish is a nice little bar in that its welcoming and hassle free.
Girls seem to come and go frequently probably due to the fact that see
more action going on in places like Red Point close by. The cashier is
hot too and open to offers.
For me its better to sit and drink and watch the world go by as its a
lot less in your face than other bars but more fun than Jack Tar over
the road which is girl free.

Review from Richard, June 2008:
The Black Hole
Amongst a group of expats we have named the bar THE BLACK HOLE.
We have been using the place for a number of years as an early
afternoon drinking HOLE and entertainment centre.
I even have a poolside room in the welkom complex for a short 2 week
stay every 6 months and it really is a most welcoming place for the
middle aged chap.
Based in north Pattaya it is well away from the main areas but soi 2
and 6 make it hard to venture away from this well appointed area.
Review July 2007: Lay Off Will You!
I was struggling to find an aircon bar in the area and
stopped by more in need of a cool beer than a hot lady. So I didn't make
a selection at the door.
I was followed in by a well presented but somewhat
older lady who didn't really fire my enthusiasm. She went immediately
into angling for short time but was polite and courteous and not
unduly pushy. Fair enough, no problem and she quickly drifted off.
Her place was immediately filled by an aging and drunk
bar lady who was a total pest. She would not heed a polite suggestion to
be left alone. I had a few words with service staff who were not the
slightest bit interested in a discomfited customer.
It was surely the most unpleasant surroundings for a
beer that I have endured for a long time in Pattaya.
Draught beer was 55 Baht.
From
Pattaya Secrets,
April 2006: Well Seasoned
I know it can be hard/impossible to find and 8, 9 or 10 in Welkom
Bar. Sometimes even a 7. But the girls are seasoned pros and there is an
okay variety in body types. They got old, young, short, tall, fat,
skinny, big and small asses, fake and natural tits. The selection can be
limited right after they open the door, but after 2 pm the place is up
and running. Can even get damn crowded later in the afternoon.
It seemed to me that a few of the rooms had fresh coat of paint and some
new furniture, but others still had the grotty feel and molded smell.
But I am used to it by now. 300 for the room and 700 for the girls. You
can present pretty much any kind of fantasy in this place, they have
heard it all before. In my opinion the Pattaya version of Eden Club.
October 2005:
Plenty of girls on hand for all tastes. I spoke to some who were more
than happy for a friendly chat/fondle and some who had a 2 word
vocabulary of "go room". The beer garden is well appreciated though as
the inside bar is used as a smoking room (tobacco that is). I had the
impression it was mandatory to light up there.
September 2005:
Crowded on weekends with Euro-Boozers
wanting a Heiniken and a fondle. Never had any problems with the
management or ladies - of which I would recommend Pompui Nok, Knockers

Review Sep 2007: Run Down
To put it bluntly, Pat Bar is a little run down. The
dilapidated sofas were held together with a stretch cover that had seen
better days. These perhaps contributed to the less than fresh odour that
permeated the bar.
The bar staff were friendly and no doubt the girls

Review April 2007: Bar Watching
I did pop by once before when I thought it would be
good to watch the last England vs Australia test match in an 'a
traditional English pub'. I popped out quick quick when they were
showing American tennis! This leads me to doubt that there is any actual
English connection to this bar.
Anyway I eventually visited again (TVs were off this
time).
The bar is pleasantly decorated and features rows of
tankards and glasses suspended from the ceiling.
The tables overlooking the short time bars are
popular, presumably people like to feed one type of hunger whilst
considering their options over the other type of hunger.
The range of farang beers was good but I stuck with
draft tiger at 60 Baht (the bottled option was 70 Baht).
Newspapers are available for the short while it takes
to knock up the food. The menu was extensive and the food was good but
not exceptional. They probably take similar high quality boil in the
bag/microwave catering supplies as other fine farang food restaurants in
Pattaya.
Not many customers were lingering after eating though,
there are better things to do in Soi 6

I popped by a couple of times and went inside, again to a hot lounge.
But the aircon was then turned on and it cooled down.
I bought a few drinks and everything was cool.
On the subsequent visit the girl opted for an expensive Bicardi
Breezer without asking first. Always pisses me off so the bar is now on
my bars to avoid list.
Review September 2008: A Hot
Quicky
The bar is a little different from its immediate neighbours in that
it features a prominent outside bar counter.
There is a back canoodling room but its existence isn't prominently
signposted. It has rather a small neon sign to the lounge.
Inside there are a couple of poles, some sofa seating and a water
feature. Even though one of the girls was well worthy of an interview,
there was no way I could stay in the backroom due to a lack of aircon. I
don't know if this was temporary or permanent, but it was impossibly
hot.
The beer prices were reasonable.
The beer is already up for sale. Presumably due to it being done by a
property developer rather than an indictment on the first few days of
trading.

Review July 2008: Well Hot
The first thing to strike is that the narrow bar has a single bench
seat running down the left hand side of the bar. The bar itself runs
down the right hand side and it almost seems that the two halves of the
bar are watching each other.
Not really a good layout for a short time bar where sofas offer a
little better feeling of privacy and intimacy.
Perhaps this bar is a bit more of a drinking bar than the Soi 6 norm.
However a short visit was as much as I could take, as my selected girl
was overly demure and the aircon was overly ineffective.
Seemed a perfectly good bar otherwise with beer at 75 Baht and lady
drinks at 100 Baht. The Room fee (no barfine required is 300 Baht)
I was also entertained by the work of a plastic surgeon, clearly
inspired by the surreal exaggeration of Picasso when creating his breast
art.

July 2006: Humming
I've only been here once. I had read on some forum that it had the
prettiest girls, and I think that proved to be true. I went upstairs,
and it was indeed shabby. No shower in the room, either, which I guess
is standard for soi 6 but I really don't want do deal with that anymore.
And maybe I am the only one who cares about such things, but these
short-time rooms gross me out. They do not change the bedding in these
places all day (if not all week), even though dozens of women get
pounded into the mattress every day. The best you can hope for is a new
large towel on top of the bed. No thanks.
I do not like the places where you get the hummer while sitting at the
bar -- not comfortable enough for me. I like the couch hummer, where I
can really stretch back and enjoy myself. Any suggestions for other bars
with excellent couch hummers? That did not seem to be an option at Red
Point during my only visit. I did see a partially hidden alcove on the
far back right of the bar that might have some promise.

June 2006: Hold Out for the Best
I have always liked the Red Point the best. On the north side of Soi 6,
50 yards or so from Beach Road. Big red dot on the sign.
The mamasan trains her girls well. They don't bother you for drinks.
Usually very good BBBJ, rim, etc. A few 3-holers. Rooms upstairs are
decent.
When you walk up there are usually girls sitting out front on the
street. If you do not see one you like just go inside and sit down on
one of the sofas. If you do not like the first girls who sits with you,
just hold out. Mamasan will eventually throw one of her best looking
ones at you.

Short time bar. Soft drinks 60 Baht, Bottled beer 80 Baht
Review from Pattaya Chat,
Dec 2006:
Short time rooms at Route 69 are horrible. Just a
mattress on the floor with separate showers
Prices are now 300 Baht for the room and 700 for the
girl paid upfront.
Review from
Tim, Oct 2006: The Price is Right
Had a few girls at the front door that interested me.. went in.. a
bit dark as are ALL the bars.. a nice girl followed.. however not to my
taste.. I asked for another girl.. again not to my taste.. NOW these
girls were attractive and friendly.. but I have my own taste in women..
finally got a nice girl..
ALL of the girls NEVER ask me to buy them a drink.. after a few
minutes.. went upstairs for a roll in the hay as they say.. price was
right.. 300 + 500.. no hassle.. rooms are bit on the old side and shower
is as well.. but I was there for an afternoon of fun.. not to live there..
In fact returned there a few times for other girls.. all were friendly, no
hassle and good in bed

Comment June 2010: No Aircon
One to cross off the list for me, the bar seems to be struggling
along without aircon
Review Nov 2009: Whatever
Happened to Ruby?
Ruby re-opened after a refit towards the end of October.
The basic change is that some of the area has been opened out into an
outside terrace. There is still an indoor bar though.
There were several customers on the new terrace mostly watching sport
on decent sized TVs. But not really what I am into, so I selected one of
just 3 girls sitting outside and headed for the aircon.
The inside bar is a little disappointing. It used to have nice curvy
bays of seating and a good feeling of being able to hide away a bit. The
current layout is a regimented sequence of comfortable sofas arranged in
several bays but all close together. They are all arranged to have a
good view of the large screen sports TV.
Definitely more of a soulless sports bar than a short time bar.
My selected drinking partner would have been more at home as a sports
bar waitress too. Clearly not into short time options. We didn't hit it
off, so our bored gaze was soon drawn to whatever was on TV. I Soon
finished the 75 Baht bottle of beer and headed off for somewhere a
little less TV dominated.
But on the way out, the good number of customers reminded that other
folks have other preferences and actually the bar seemed to be doing
quite well.
News Jul 2009: Closed for
renovations
Said to be closed for 2 months for renovation. The bar
will then feature dancing, maybe even a gogo.
Review from Pattaya Secrets,
May 2008: Plush
Rooms very good. A fair mix of merchandise. Drinks are about the
cheapest for that end of street. The seating area is very plush with
good air-con.
300 for the room and 500 for the girl.
January 2006:
Ruby has excellent short time rooms. Large, clean, modern, mirrored
ceiling and walls, big beds, adjustable lighting and very large showers.
Room 250 and girl 500 for some of the best short time fun on soi 6.
November 2005:
Plush interior with several bars of
comfortable sofas. The expected clutch of pretty young things were well
friendly.

2007. Bottled beer 75 Baht. Room 300, barfine 500 after 8pm, 1000

Review by Ken, Oct 2008: Great
Hosts
Saigon Girl is owned by Terry and Nung previously of T.G. bar. He
and his wife are great hosts and make all patrons welcome. He is also
a keen biker who will always talk about his passion. I have known
Terry for several years and he is a constant information source on
what is happening in pattaya.
Review by Materialsman, Oct 2008:
Little Red Hats
Before ‘stumps up’ decided that one more beer wouldn’t go amiss, so
we stumbled off to the Saigon Girl bar in Soi 6. I have a hazy
recollection of being in this bar last Thursday, and remember being
captivated by the red uniforms and little red hats all the girls were
wearing, and so it was!
The bar has a sort of confused Saigon theme, posters of The Deer
Hunter, and a mural of the poster of the sunset from Apocalypse Now on
one wall, as well as many posters of various big hairy motorcycles,
perhaps the owner is some sort of grizzled Harley Davidson riding
Vietnam Vet?
The girls are not the prettiest in the Soi, but they make up for
that with their rare enthusiasm for their work, and the uniform works
for me, you probably think I am some kind of uniform obsessed pervert
right? Probably 100% spot on! So, two drinks later, and a couple of
lady drinks nestled in the bins, it was time for me to mosey on home,
but as I stand up and take one last look around before diving through
the curtain, I see my drinking buddy on a sofa with two cuddly girls,
one either side of him, massaging his privates for all they are worth,
dressed in those pretty red uniforms, and still wearing the hats, a
lovely memory, a Kodak moment indeed, ain’t life in Pattaya grand!
Review Oct 2007: Apocalypse Now
The opening night was well attended with plenty of
food laid on to keep an army of bikers well fed.
In anticipation of a good turnout the owners had
closed down their Route 69 bar for the evening and reposted the girls
for duties in Saigon Girl.
The war theme of the bar is surely unique in Pattaya.
The walls are decorated by pictures of the Vietnam War. Partitions
around the bar are made from "Explosives" canisters. There's even a
NAAFI seemingly located in the loos. The girls were wearing military
styled skirts and blouses but somewhat skimpier than female troopers may
wear. The peace badge seemed slightly out of place though. A couple of
jeeps were parked outside the bar for extra effect.
Presumably Rest & Recreation is the purpose of the bar
but the bar layout seems a bit of a disaster for this purpose.
There are comfortable seats but these arranged facing
the bar almost like as if to provide a show for the people sitting at
the bar. There's not a shred of privacy and when a girl was taking good
personal care of me, I somehow saw the entire bar as an auditorium with
me and my girl being the performers.
There are a couple of dance poles on podiums but the
bar isn't going into the gogo business.

Review Sept 2008: Hardened
May be coincidence but my only 2 visits to this bar in the last year
have been a total disaster. Both cute looking girls who made not the
slightest attempt to be friendly. Obviously well used to fluttering
their eyelids and persuading the guy to go straight upstairs.
For me the half the fun is in the chase, so the bar is crossed off
the list for the moment.
Nothing otherwise wrong with the bar though, looks ok, reasonable
beer prices and the bin gets put on your table.
No doubt I can be easily persuaded to return if I spot a friendly
looking girl.
December 2005: Slinky
Two hostesses in slinky black dresses
greeted us as we entered, while a third lovely lass proceeded to climb
on an impromptu stage in her birthday suit. She then gyrated to random

Review August 2009: No Kisses and
No Smoke
Another bar from the team that designed the newly opened Smoke &
Mirrors.
Again the theme is an outside sitting area with bar and an inside
aircon area also with a bar.
This bar is a little narrower than Mirrors and this reflects in a
bench seat down one side. This time the inside bar is an extension of
the outside bar and this saves a fair bit of space. There is a little
more seating at the back of the bar and a dancing pole at the front. It
is attractive and stylish but the open layout doesn't offer much in the
way of privacy for short time interviews.
The drinks prices were very reasonable at 80 Baht for a my beer and
80 Baht for a lady beer.
I would have stayed longer but my lady did a pre-arranged runner and
there were few appealing replacements.

Smoke

Review June 2009: Reflections on
a New Bar
The bar has connections with Quicky Bar, another recent bar on Soi 6.
It shares the idea of having an open drinking section out front for
those that like to watch Soi 6 go by. And an aircon inside are for those
who prefer a bit more privacy for their choice of entertainment. No
doubt the design will come into its own should ever the smoking ban get
enforced.
The drinks counter is actually in the outside section but there is
also an unused bar in the inside room. The inside room features the
expected comfortable seating and plenty of large mirrors on the wall. I
am told that large wall mirrors feature in the short time rooms too.
The drinks prices were reasonable and the bar seems well run.
The bin appeared with the drinks which is something that is happening
less and less on Soi 6. Not having the bin available for inspection is
an incredibly tempting opportunity for bill padding. So it is something
I particularly look out for these days.
I am a bit doubtful about the name though, in my dictionary Smoke &
Mirrors means: "something that is intended
to draw attention away from something else that somebody would prefer
remain unnoticed". I was a bit worried that my girl may therefore
turn out to be a boy...but that surely wasn't the case.

Review May 2009: Typical
To be fair I normally would have walked on by due to the girls on
show, but being inquisitive I said hello to a girl and walked in.
It turns out to be a perfectly typical Soi 6 bar with sofas set out
cross ways down the bar. It is perhaps smaller than most because they
have made a bit of space out front for those that would like to have a
cigarette outside.
Unfortunately my drinking partner was a hardened Soi 6 lady who simply
was not interested in pleasantries nor an enticing interview. So things
didn't pan out.
A bottle of beer is set at around the 75 Baht mark.
A bit of a naff visit, but there was nothing to suggest things wouldn't
be better on another day with a different girl.

Review by Stephan, Oct 2009: Fair
Prices
I never had a problem with the bin at this bar. But it's true they
not always put it on the table. As I'm a regular customer I don't
care. My girl takes care I always receive a correct tab. Have also to
mention that prices in this bar are fair.
They allow smoking in the bar (the owner himself does), which can
be quite annoying for non-smokers.
Review, Nov 2008: Bin Keeping
The bar is still operating without providing bin chits. Even on
asking they had to be written out, just kept by memory before. Not a
place to get drunk and lose track of the tab.
Can't comment of the rest, my girl was shagged out and just wanted
to sleep.
Review, October 2006: Check the Bin
A bit of a warning sign when your bin is kept at the bar instead of
being sent to your table. And sure enough on checking...a mythical drink
had been added.
The girls launch straight into premium price ladydrinks without
asking permission too.
Pretty ladies though, so one can get easily distracted...
Review, June 2006: Discrete Sign
Unassuming bar that I hadn't spotted before. As one speeds past it
seems to be part of the Butterfly Bar but there is a separate sign if
you look.
The girls were a mixed bunch with some looking attractive in their
white blouses and tartan skirts.
The bar is pretty standard inside with drinks, sofas and music videos
on TV. Well distracted by an old friend so didn't spend much time
examining the decor. There was a fair amount of toing and froing in the
bar but not actually much coming and going.
There were a couple of tense moments in the bar as one of the girls
seemed a little argumentative after a few too many drinks.

Went into U Too bar a few nights before I came home from my recent

great for sport and music was good too.
However prices are generally high and some of the girls are reported

Lady drinks are 120 Baht of which the girl only gets 30 Baht. ST & LT

Review September 2009: Decor
The black decor featuring cut out moon and stars rather suggest this
bar hasn't been decorated for years. The sofas were better than some
though.
The drinks prices were OK at 120 Baht for a lady beer and 80 Baht for
a bottled beer. The bin was brought to the table which seems to be
getting rarer these days.
My drinking partner proved to be good company which made for an
enjoyable stay.
There were a couple of rather over the top lady boys on the books.
I don't usually think a grim decor is much of a problem in a bar, but
for a bar where going up is the name of the game, then it would be good
to try and convince customers that it won't be too grim upstairs with a
nice decor downstairs.

to Soi Yodsak for that sort of stuff anyway.
Moving onto the bedrooms, they only have one that has air con, the
others are all fan rooms, and of course you have the joy of the shared
bathroom

There seems to be some confusion about the name of the
short time bar at the Welkom Inn. The best bet is 'No Name Bar' so see
above.

Whiskey Whisky Bar

Whiskey
Whisky Bar
Whiskey bar with aircon. No short time rooms. 300/500 ST/LT barfines
From Whiskey Whisky, April 2008:
No-Hassle Drinking Bar
The wife (Saree) and I run a no-hassle drinking bar. No ST rooms.
Bar fine outs only.
We presently stock around 60+ Whiskies, couple dozen Vodkas, a dozen
Gins, dozen and half Tequilas, dozen or so Rums.......as well as beer,
coolers and the usual Baileys, Kahlua etc etc.
Punters are welcome to select their own music from around 12,000
tracks on the PC.
There are girls but hands on fun is not encouraged in the bar and
the girls set their own prices which are not bound by the Soi 6 norm.
Review from
Thai Visa,
August 2006: Wide Variety
Great Aircon spot in the middle of the gauntlet. It specialises in a
wide variety of whiskeys. The owner is fabulous - she really makes an
effort to go out of her way to make you feel at home.

Notes |
|
Pattaya bars most likely to be listed are those that
occupy a permanent looking standalone building. Beer bars in
complexes will not be listed
unless mentioned in dispatches. Gay/Thai/Karaoke bars are not listed due
to a lack of expertise in those areas. Gogo bars are listed on a
separate page. I have added food reviews but
this is not a comprehensive service. I will only list eateries where
people have submitted comments
The following reviews are those that I come across on
the web, in guide books, from contributors and of course from my own
visits. Reviewers may be unreasonably harsh and bar owners
may present a rosy picture of their bars...so don't take everything at
face value...go and see for yourself. Click on the street name to obtain
a map of the bar area.
And a couple of words of warning:
-
In short time rooms...keep an
eye on your wallet to ensure that it stays with you long time.
-
To those with Thai wives, be aware of the motor
cycle taxi network used to keep tabs on errant husbands.

July 2007:
Short Time Edging Up
From
Pattaya Secrets
and tallies with my own observations
- Dancing Girl ... ST 1000 / LT 2000 (assuming good performance). I would suggest that you should be willing to add an extra
500 to the GoGo fee if you get stuck on a model class girl and
you find yourself unable to say no.
- Beer Bar Girl ... ST 500 / LT 1000 (quickie) to ST 700 /
LT 1500 (for an entire evening of effort)
- Street Freelancer ... ST 500 / LT 1000 (no questions, no exceptions)
- Short Time Bar Girl... Traditionally ST 500 with 250 for the room (+ small
tip for good service) but now edging up to ST 700 and 300 for
the room
