Club Nevada is located on Soi Post Office, a few paces off Beach Road.

The bar is basically a sound, mostly daytime, gogo with several endearing features.

The bar typically has about 10 dancers. They dance in the full range from bikini to very little. About an average line up, but there's usually a couple of girls who stand out.

The music is strictly rock. And the drinks are reasonably priced.

As with several other bars, one of its fundamental flaws is that too many of the girls are set dancing. A daytime hangout should be about spending time with the customers, with just enough dancing to ensure a pleasant distraction for a few minutes whilst finding a drinking partner.

But even when there are no customers in the bar, then it is typical that 5 out of the 10 girls will be set dancing. That immediately means that customers have to spend half there time watching the insipid dancing. Usually therefore, "I Go Dance" results in a quick "check bin", and a short stroll to Hot and Cold.

Nui's Club 2 is located on Walking Street nearly opposite Soi Diamond.

The bar continues its minor bar existence. It is worth the occasional pit stop as it usually has a few attractive girls and can get quite hands on friendly when the mood is right.

There are usually 4 or 5 girls on the main stage and another 2 or 3 dancing on the tables and secondary stage.

One of these is designated as a show girl, partaking in the soapy stage antics. There are no ring side seats so this adds very little to the bar.

The dance roster is a bit too long for a small bar, so I guess if a customer is being looked after by a dancer, "I go dance" often correlates to "check bin".

As mentioned before, there are too many girls dancing on the main stage which offers a good view to only a few seats in the bar. Perhaps the bar could get a few useful tips from a psychologist.

New Living Dolls is centrally located on Walking Street opposite Happy A-GoGo

The bar seems to be marking time nicely perhaps to be ready for a good high season when the perennial visitors will flock back.

The basics of plenty of attractive girls and an efficient staff, along with friendly managers should hold them in good stead.

The drinks prices seem to be creeping up though, but there's a good happy hour and the cheap draft beer is retained for the whole evening.

My main low season gripe is that the show is a bit insipid, especially compared with the 'good old days' a couple of years ago.

But on the whole the bar is pretty much business as usual.

Lollipop is centrally located on Walking Street opposite Soi BJ

Lollipop is one of the bars that has many of the features in place that makes for a good bar.

It is tightly run and plays it straight. There's no hassle and the staff and management are friendly and able.

There usually a fair amount of attractive girls and they have the full range of dress codes from over dressed coyote to very little.

The drinks prices are reasonable too.

All sounds good bar one design flaw. The bar has nearly all the girls dancing and the dance stint is overlong too.

The few girls on hostess duty, waiting their turn to dance, aren't particularly pro-active in searching out lady drinks either. Perhaps because their turn to dance will come around too quickly to make it worthwhile.

One contributor to a Pattaya forum suggested that they have worked around the over-dancing problem by sitting at the play table stage. It seems that the girls there can take good care of nearby customers whilst still nominally on their dancing turn.

Other than that, the bar is still worth a visit for those that prefer watching over interacting.

We Are No 1 is located on Thappraya Road near where it turns into Jomtien Beach Road

If there was a prize for the most naff GoGo in the Jomtien area then We Are No 1 could make a valid claim.

It's certainly not the worst GoGo in Pattaya, that award would be reserved for those that were rip off joints or were hasslesome or dishonest.

We Are No 1 has no such negative attributes, and generally everything is fair, friendly and above board.

But it is the way it operates that is so naff. The bar features a stage full of below average girls and hardly any left over for customer care duties. There doesn't seem anything to entertain, either customers into watching pretty girls dance, or else those that like a bit of interaction.

Presumably the handful of customers simply aren't aware that there are 50 better GoGos over the hill in Pattaya, or else they go for the pretty good selection of rock videos shown on a couple of very large screens.

The Office A-GoGo is located in Soi LK Metro which is a dog leg connecting Soi Diana with Soi Buakhao.

I stopped by at an earlyish hour a few days after the soft opening.

First impressions are that the bar looks the part. It has a central stage with a Jacuzzi extension. There are two tiers of narrow bench seating down the sides of the bar and a couple of bays near the door. The back benches have a few long stretches without access points which will probably be avoided by customers.

The music was at a reasonable volume and included a few rock classics I hadn't heard in a while.

The drinks prices were very reasonable with a 60 baht draft and bottled beer at 85-95 Baht. Nuts were provided too.

So really the basics were in place.

There were a few attractive hostesses in office attire milling round but the bar connections suggested that some of these may be not interested in anything beyond being bought lady drinks. Up to them.

There were 12 dancing girls perhaps a little below average although there were a couple of attractive girls. This actually isn't too bad for a bar starting out. It takes a bar with a decent turnover before the bar can command the better girls.

The dancers were well overdressed though, 11 out of the 12 were closer to coyotes than gogo dancers. The dress code was generally knickers under negligee style shorts and a solid bra. One girl had a flapping open blouse that just about rescued the bar from being re-designated as a coyote bar. 

The girls were organised into two shifts of 6 dancers. None of the dancing girls were being friendly with customers after their dance stint.

So for the moment, the bar doesn't really offer much for those that like interactive dancers  nor those like to see their dancers nude. But it looks as if the basics are in place that will probably allow for improvement.

Still there were actually a goodly number of customers stopping buy for a look, but mostly stopping for a quick drink and then off.

Club Boesche is located in the Covent Garden Complex on Soi 16 just off Waking Street.

Customers are a bit thin on the ground at the moment. But rather unexpectedly, I have found that Club Boesche have been one of the more positive bars in looking after the customers that do wander in.

Particularly true of the Jacuzzi girls towards the back of the bar. During my last couple of visits they have obliged with a bit of friendly interaction and some good matchmaking with a few pretty girls of the bar.

Sitting at the back though reveals some of the design flaws of the bar. The Jacuzzi is a bit too far away to provide much of a show and the main stage is simply out of view. Not even enough view to see if other customers were enjoying their visit also. If it wasn't for the friendly girls that entertained me at my seat then there wouldn't be much to enjoy.

But for the moment I can report a couple of good recent visits to the bar.

Powers Club A-GoGo is located on central Walking Street above Champion A-GoGo

I stopped by during happy hour but the bar was pretty underwhelming with probably a dozen dancers and a couple of hostesses. There were more coyote dancers than girls in bikinis or less, which sounds off a few danger bells.

One of the hostesses was friendly enough to stop by for a chat and she told me that the bar has a late night life, more as club than a GoGo. She suggested it is best to come back at 2am.

But really nothing much doing to keep early birds in the bar. So the GoGo seems doomed to be one on the circuit of bars destined for a single beer.

Baby Dolls A-GoGo is located on Soi 15 a short distance off Walking Street.

The bar is sticking to a good system, and has now maintained high standards of fun for a long stint.

The bar has two threads of entertainment. There are the naughty show girls that have a circuit of the the play mat stage and then the Jacuzzi, working in teams of two. They are amongst the naughtiest in town with props such as bananas being put to good use. Plenty of customers will head straight to stage side seats for the 'shows'.

The other option is the more traditional centre stage gogo dancing. The available girls split into 3 teams (2 later on the evening when a fair few girls tend to drift away with customers). The girls dance just a few songs before a shift change for the next team. This works really well as the girls spend most of their time earning tips and lady drinks by sitting with customers.

The girls seem to generally prefer sitting on your lap rather than sitting at your side. I am sure this does wonders in terms of tips earned.

It is one Pattaya's best bars for a reliable chance of good close up, and hands on, customer care.

The only times I have ever made a hasty getaway is when the bar gets a bit crowded and there aren't enough girls to go around. There's nothing worse than watching other people enjoying themselves so much when you are missing out.

Paris A-GoGo is located on Soi Diamond just a few paces off Walking Street

August is holiday month for Parisians and they tend to shoot off to the beach or the country for the month. This leaves the Paris night spots a little bit quiet for the period. And the Pattaya Paris seems to be suffering a similar lack of custom.

I actually popped in a couple of days before the rumours of a sale were reported. And it was deathly quiet. This is particularly bizarre for a bar so well situated a few paces from Walking Street.

The bar doesn't do anything bad as it is tightly run, there are no hassles and no funny business. It is more that the bar doesn't really do anything very positive.

The bar has average girls for Walking Street, and the average is pretty good. But it doesn't have the top notch girls that attract those customers that like to watch top talent.

Many bars don't have the top talent, but can still make a good go of it by deploying interactive girls to go and keep the customers personally entertained. But Paris is sadly lacking in the interactive front too.

And if all else fails bars can always opt for a cheap bar option to attract another sector of the customer base. But Paris doesn't even offer a draft beer. The 90-110 Baht bottled beer is not in itself expensive, but it is poor value indeed, given the low chance of a worthwhile visit.

Surely a change of hands will generate a much needed kick up the butt.

Roxy is located on Walking Street near the Walking Street Tree

For those that like a bit of a show, then Roxy is one of the best on Walking Street. It features very attractive girls, a generally fun atmosphere and also a cheap beer option.

In fact a few months ago it was also starting to capture a share of the market of those customers who prefer to interact with the girls. I may have been unlucky on my last couple of visits, but there were few girls on hostess duties whilst the stage was packed with dancers. A late night visit had to be a quick U turn as every single available girl was set to dancing with none to take care of customers.

But returning to those that like the show, then the bar offers alternate shifts of a stage packed with lively dancers and then show girls in a choreographed erotic presentation. Not quite as professional as Angelwitch, but not bad. Not quite as naughty as certain 'specialist' bars, but not bad.

Male service staff is a bit of a downer though.

There are also many attractive welcome girls that can be enticed in, but the lady drinks have to flow freely otherwise they soon have to depart back to welcome duty.

FLB is a hostess bar located just by the Walking Street Tree.

The bar seems to have invested in some slightly more pro-active welcome staff. A couple of attractive girls seem to be more likely to pull people in than has been the case for a while.

The welcome girls are, by default at least, pinned to the door. At an earlyish time there were about 6 hostesses available inside. There were a couple that were attractive.

I chatted to one for a while. She made for good company and the drinks were reasonably priced so it made for a nice stay.

Eventually the band came on. They were very competent but ultimately didn't grab my attention due to the usual over familiar tunes.

The bar seemed to fill up a bit though with what I guessed were regular customers. Not sure if there were enough girls to go around at this point. So perhaps better later for people with their own company.

Classroom A-GoGo is a coyote bar on Soi Pattayaland 2

Classroom A-GoGo has long been banished from the Thai-Anxiety GoGo listings for wearing way too many clothes. And the girls are still over dressed with the usual Britney Spears attire complete with skirt, knickers, blouse and bra.

There were maybe 15 girls in the bar of which 7 were dancing an over long roster. They were below average but there were a couple of dancers that were attractive enough. On average, a little over aged and over weight. I wonder if letting the girls wear so many clothes may rather attract the girls who need to cover up.

The girls seem friendly and willing to come across for a chat.

The draft beer is well over priced at 100 Baht.

Surely as a GoGo the bar offers poor value. But the bar seems to have an alternative role as a hangout bar along the lines of TQ1. There seemed to be quite a few customers having a chat on the high level part of the bar. They were generally chatting amongst themselves and ignoring the dancing.

Silhouettes is an aircon bar that has just opened on 2nd Road opposite Royal Garden Plaza replacing Lineker's Bar

There were four girls waiting outside the door of which a couple were nice and the others a bit old. So I made the usual signs and wandered in, only to notice that my choice was overruled and an oldie followed me in. Normally I would do a quick U turn but as I wanted to see the bar I let it ride.

Inside is a nice newly decorated bar with comfortable seats and good aircon. The seating area looks badly laid out though, with the large majority of seats in a communal area looking as if it has been designed for large parties of friends with all the seats overlooking the others. Surely the bar would be better designed with bays and mini barriers that give cues of privacy. There is one seating bay however, and the 2nd customer to enter was quick to bagsy that area.

The entertainment options are pretty slim in the bar with a single picture of a lady repeated many times around the room and TVs showing the FTV fashion channel.

Prices were distinctly poor value at 100 Baht for a bottled beer and 130 Baht for a lady drink. There are menus on the table but somehow these neglected to include the prices.

The bar is attractive enough that it may find a niche as a smart set drinking bar, but I rather suspect that the expats won't put up with expensive drinks and the silly tricks with the eye candy being pinned to the door.

Champion is centrally located on Walking Street.

First of all it is was good to feel that the aircon has been fixed since my last visit, although maybe they are still economising somewhat.

And whilst thinking of improvements it was also good see a handful of very attractive girls on the dancing team. Still plenty of old stagers though. The bar has decided that knickers are now required whereas on a previous visit, these were considered as overdressing.

The drinks prices are still more or less the cheapest on Walking Street.

In fact the bar seems well run and a decent place for a beer.

It never seems to warrant more than a beer though, primarily because the girls seem to be always dancing with little time left to sit with customers. This seems to have been an almost permanent failing ever since the bar introduced the table dancing tables. Just too many dance positions to fill for the amount of girls sustainable by the customer base.

Windmill Club is located at about the centre of Soi Diamond

Windmill gets the Thai-Anxiety award for the bar where it is most likely that an agreeable girl will jump on my lap and make the visit a success.

Down mainly to the dedicated entertainment committee of the girls and the management, but perhaps the small size of the bar assists too. The bar simply can't squeeze in too many customers for the amount of girls available, which is quite a lot anyway.

So the girls make for  great hands on hostesses, there's naughty shows in the Jacuzzi and on play mat stages. The drinks prices are good and the happy hour is very cheap with 45 Baht drinks.

But really its that nearly 100% likelihood of fun that makes Windmill one of Pattaya's outstanding gogos.

Naughty Girls is located on Soi Diamond a few metres off Walking Street

Naughty Girls continues its very traditional approach to GoGo.

The bar has a narrow central stage featuring maybe be 10 girls dancing at a time. They do a very slow rotation of one girl per song making for a way too long 10 song dance session. There are generally some attractive girls and they dance either topless or bikini clad.

There is comfortable bench seating around 3 sides of the square bar.

There is a cheap draft beer at 55 Baht.

The bars main drawback is that it does not seem to have a found a good way to hook the girls up with customers.

Perhaps they seek to emulate Super Girls next door, where the girls don't make the first move and wait for their number to be called by a customer. Most customers in Super Girls are happy to bide their time over a few beers whilst making their choice. But Naughty does not quite attract the top notch level of girls required to make this mode of operation work. Naughty ends up with a very moderate mix of an uninspired show and not very interactive girls.

Club Misty's is located on Soi 15, a few metres off Walking Street

The bar has enjoyed a recent surge in the numbers of girls dancing in the bar. And to add to the attraction, there are quite a few that are very pleasing on the eye.

This means that the bar is quite busy in terms of dancing. there is a circuit of girls for the tables around the outside of the bar. There is a circuit of dancers on the central stage and a couple more doing a play mat show with the usual thwack foam sticks, again on the central stage.

Plenty of girls left over for hostessing duty too. But to be honest, this does not seem one of their favourite occupations. They seem to prefer to chat amongst themselves.

Perhaps the best bet for a bit of interaction is to sit stage side and play with the girls with the thwack sticks.

Sexy A-GoGo is located on Soi 7 towards the 2nd Road end.

Whilst never really full the bar seems to generated a steady customer base. Probably those like me who find it a pleasant bar to have a quick drink rather than as a serious girl hunting bar.

There are now perhaps a dozen dancers of which 3 or 4 dance at a time. Topless or bikini clad is the dress code. A little below average but there are still a few that sometimes troop out clasping the hand of a new found boyfriend.

The dancers are happy to approach in search of a lady drink and can get quite hands on friendly if one so desires, although few customers seem to want to partake.

The drinks are cheap and the staff are friendly.

X-Zone is located on the top floor of the Covent Garden Complex on Soi 16 a few paces off Walking Street.

X-Zone is a very large GoGo but the only worthwhile entertainment is at the bar's naughty table.

It is often noted by Pattaya commentators as the naughtiest naughty table in town. Two girls at a time offer hands on/hands in entertainment to the guys who sit at the table. The show tends to dominate proceedings for the rest of the bar too. A well popular attraction.

The rest of the bar is a little disappointing. Too many girls are set dancing and there are few left over to take care of customers.

The bar is often halved in size by curtaining off a portion and there are still too many dance stages to fill for the number of girls available. On occasion there are plenty of girls but then the bar opens up the curtained off area and there are again not enough girls left over after filling all the extra dance positions.

Still  I guess this matters little to the customers who mainly come for the naughty table.

Casnovy A-GoGo is located on Walking Street towards the Beach Road end.

I'm not out much these days due to shitty business and no money and, apparently, I'm not the only ones. I did go for 2 of the big beers at Casnovy last night and noticed there were no shows being offered.

Chatted with one of the longtime mamasans and said all the showgirls had been shown the door. No more shows at Casnovy. The owner decided that the showgirl salaries were just too expensive given the shit economy.

They've been supplanted by 2 rotations of nude girls who, when not dancing, sit with customers, smile on stage, have a good attitude and only a notch below the showgirls on the looks scale. As opposed to showgirls, who look down their own noses on stage then go sit in the back afterward.

I, for one, would hugely applaud more bars – particularly farang-owned ones – following suit, knocking the showgirls they elevated to such lofty perches, down a couple pegs. Dancers? You can stay. Showgirls? You're fired.

Loved it!

Lovejoy's is a large open beer bar on Thappraya Road opposite the Jomtien Complex

Been drinking in Pattaya and Jomtiem for over 2 years and found Lovejoy bar, nice place to sit day or night, main road open air bar with comfortable seating so ideal to watch the world go by, and beer at 40 baht, what more can I ask for, Oh yes some lovely ladies, Lovejoy has them too, refreshing change to be served and left alone to enjoy my drink, although there were about 20 ladies to talk to and buy some lady drinks if I want to, which I do every time I go.

Good music videos on 3 TVs .Pool table and a golf machine and a nice beer garden, plenty of bar games to play with the lady of my choice, I've been lucky to buy a lady a drink and she has already got 3 or 4 drinks from other customers so if I buy 2 or 3 at 90b its a cheap bf, the mamasan speaks good English and some German. All in all a nice place in a city full of same same bars.

Toyz A-GoGo is located in the Covent Garden Complex just a few metres off Walking Street on Soi 16.

It is a smart and attractive, but small and narrow, bar with plenty of good things going for it.

It generally has some prettier than average girls dancing on the central stage showing off about 4 or 5 dancers at a time. Bikini clad or topless is the norm.

Over time, the bar has also benefited from a fair few people dropping in for a chat with the owner. So a bit of a social scene going on. I am not sure if this is still the case though, I've not heard Toyz mentioned much on the forums these days.

The bar is also well run in terms of service staff and drinks prices. The toilets are decent too.

But all good things aside, the bar is a bit boring. There is no entertainment beyond the gogo dancing which is performed to draggy long dance tunes. And the girls just don't seem very interactive. The chances are that customers will get left alone in peace and solitude even when they are the only customer in the bar.

Dream Teen is located a few meters off Soi Buakhao on Soi 21 (Soi Jirapol) going towards PP Massage and 3rd Road.

Nice rooms, comfortable atmosphere, girls range from 5-8s.

The price is 550 Baht for a 1.5 hr relaxing oil massage, but for everything beyond erotic, the lady will try to extract as much money as she can.

Lowest prices I got were 300-600-1000. All in all anything else than a cheap option, since for 1600 Baht one can also get a full soapie experience and without the annoying bargaining.

A Quick Rinse

Asia Massage is located in Chonburi town

Package price is now 1100 Baht, rooms are below average.

A quick bath (about 10 min) then right to the business, massage only on specific request.

So basically it comes down to an expensive short time with cleaning in the bathtub instead of a shower and a rubbered BJ as a start.

Baby Boom is located a few meters off Soi Buakhao about opposite Soi Honey

I have dropped by a couple of times since the opening but have found that the bar has gotten very boring very quickly.

Perhaps I arrived at too early an hour but the bar was almost empty of customers. On the plus side there were still some very pretty girls.

The bar had about six girls dancing an overlong 6 song dance stint. About half the girls were topless.

After finishing their dance duty, the pretty girls seemed content to hide in the corners and around the back, leaving the customer interaction to the oldies and fatties.

I have a feeling that the younger girls were awaiting Japanese customers as a few dropped by. Perhaps the bar has invested in some promotional material with a Japanese target market.

The bar has replaced the cheap draft with cheap bottled chang.

Tim A-GoGo is located on 2nd Road nearly opposite Mike's Mall

As per normal the bar was reasonably full with customers. Always a bit of surprise to me but it seems pretty consistent.

Another minor surprise was that the dancing girls have a new uniform idea that I have rarely seen before. They were dressed in striking red underwear. Not your usual knickers and bikini top, but in knickers, corsets, bras, suspender belts, negligee, the works!.

Perhaps a little of an over exaggeration but way too much covering for my tastes, though I can image there may be many who would appreciate this variation. Me, I was wondering if it still qualified as a GoGo bar where I consider the maximum clothing allowed should be a bikini.

Anyway there were 6 or so girls dancing on the square central stage and plenty more dancers, sitting waiting their turn. And in terms of talent, there were a few that appealed, which is a better standard than that of yesteryear.

None of the prettier girls seemed on the lookout for customers to drink with though, so I didn't stay long. I spent the remainder of the time wondering why the place was so popular. In the end, the only thing I found worthy of particular praise was the collection of music videos. There were some real gems, of obscure but excellent rock.

Iron Club is located in Walking Street opposite Soi Diamond

I've been meaning to take another look for a while now but, for obviously good reasons, the bar has always simply been too full for my tastes.

But for my latest visit I tried earlier about 10ish and it was about a third full. I sat in the middle of the bar so as to report on all the stages.

The front stage was filled with about a dozen girls in a very square military formation. They were all bikini clad except when the got to the last position, they would generally take off their tops. There were some good looking dancers but not exclusively so.

The middle Jacuzzi had a couple of girls doing the Jacuzzi thing enjoyed by a couple of ringsiders. This was not the most popular spectacle. The star stage seemed to be the back stage where the lookers were. There were usually 4 girls half dancing and half doing the usual play stage antics. They were rotating through clothing from bikinis to none.

I was well looked after by a front stage dancer who proved very diverting company. All totally hassle free and without stupidities like lady cocktails. We did have to shoo away an old mamasang who bizarrely thought she may be able to contribute something to our private proceedings.

Actually for the price of the 120 Baht lady drink or two, the girl was excused dancing duties for quite a while, at least until the bar filled and their weren't enough spare ladies to take up the slack.

All in all the visit was a complete success with the only minor gripe being the music volume making verbal conversation a bit of a strain. Still my drinking partner had gotten used to this, and developed an easy to understand tactile body language that got most necessary messages across.

New Star is located on Soi Diamond a few paces from Walking Street

The bar can be a bit of a mixed bag but there is always a chance of hands on fun with a pretty girl.

The bar has a fair few girls for a small bar but there is usually quite a range with some well pretty and some well past it.

There are usually just 3 or 4 dancing girls in the full range of bikini to none. The star turns of the team does a play stage stint at the front of the bar with thwack sticks and the like.

As there are few girls dancing at any one time this leaves a good amount pf girls available for hands on customer care.

There's a cheap 55 Baht draft and lady drinks are ok at 110 Baht.

All seems pretty good therefore in terms of the way the bar operates, but there are a few things more that customers need to know.

Firstly the pretty girls are anchored to the seats around the front door. They are available for hostessing, its just that when they haven't got a customer, they have to sit near the door ready to impress customers who poke their head inside for a look see.

The trick is just to select a seat near the front door so that you are close enough to take a look, and be within smile/signal range to ask a girl over. Sitting at the back of the bar tends to result in the old stagers having first dibs.

The second thing customers need to know is that the girls will prey ruthlessly on any newbies they detect. They can swarm around in seconds.

And one last thing to note is that the bar runs 2 shifts changing at 8pm. Both shifts can have some pretty girls, making the bar well above average for daytime fun. Most other bars seem to have more of a 'second' team on the daytime shift.

Smile is located on Soi 14 nextdoor to Misty's

Smile Girls A-GoGo is a tiny bar with bench seating down ether side of a central narrow stage. This leaves little space for the walkways down either side of the stage.

There's usually 3 girls on stage, 2 dancing, and the other soaping herself down in the Jacuzzi embedded in the centre of the stage. The girls are distinctly below average but the bar at least tries to get a couple of decent looking girls for Jacuzzi duty.

There's a cheap draft beer at 55 Baht.

Some of the girls can be quite hands on, and I've seen a few customers enjoying the attention.

But unfortunately the overall attitude towards customers is that of hassle. Some of the girls try to bully for tips way beyond the level acceptable in other Walking Street GoGos. I've found it an unpleasant bar to drink in on a couple of occasions.
